Arrests by the Miami Police Department

In 2015, the City of Miami Police Officers had 466 DUI arrests. That number was down from a high of 1,013 DUI arrests in 2012. Officers within MPD's Traffic Enforcement Unit issued 38,789 traffic summonses in 2012. The Unit conducted 47 DUI Saturation Operations. Jointly with the Drug Recognition Expert Detail, motor officers participated in 11 multi-agency DUI checkpoints within the City and an additional 15 in other jurisdictions.

The Hit and Run Detail of the Miami Police Department received and investigated 3,681 hit and run accidents in 2012. A total of 853 were cleared, 623 summonses were written and 33 arrests were made.
